My Gateway laptop died, but I want to delete/ destroy data. How?

My Gateway laptop died when its ability to accept electricity ended. So I have sensitive information on my laptop hard drive, and I can’t delete it. (I already took it in for repairs and tried everything—the laptop simply won’t take a charge) So how do I destroy all the data? I’m worried about giving it away because I don’t want the data to be accessed by anybody. I also don’t want to throw it away in the trash or throw it into a river. What should I do?

What memory is more suitable for a Gateway MX3230?

My Gateway MX3230 has only 256 MB or memory, thus it works very slow. I want to upgrade to a 1024 MB but I am not sure which memory to use. Can anyone please tell me the specification of the memory I should buy and the price that would be descent for this product? Please give me a definite answer. I appreciate it!
What is Kingston and where do I go to buy it?

I am having problems defragging my computer. It is a year old gateway on XP?

It says i should defrag the drive and a little bit into the defragging, it restarts the computer. Then when i log into my desktop it says that it recovered from a serious error and asks if i want to send my problem to windows (i think thats what it says)
What do i do?
I have used 66.4G and have 75G left over
And yes i have done everything else to clean my computer before hand. the only thing left is the defrag.

I bought a used Gateway Solo 1450, does it have a built in wireless adapter?

I bought it used from a friend of a friend, and now I can’t get in touch with the original owner. It works fine otherwise, but I would like to go wireless. The Gateway website says it’s available on this model, but it’s not clear on whether it was optional or standard. I can’t seem to install it, but I don’t want to take that to mean it doesn’t have one. Please tell me how to find out if one is there, and how to install it.

i have sims 2 but it giving me lockup problems that i cannot resolve, i play it for 3 min then the game locks up at the loading screen and it continues to do that any clues to why?

I don’t remember the address, I saw in once in Glendale, Ca, it is was the computer store with with white box and the black cow dots. I really appreciate it, i called goog-411 and all the other stuff like that, i can’t find it. But i know it is there. any help is good

How can I get my Gateway GT5056 Desktop USB ports to work?

My computer is less than 6 months old. They were working fine, and one day - nothing… I have tried system restore and even hard drive restore… still not working. Gateway wants me to send it in for repair, but I will be without a computer for a month or so…. Please help! (Answer that works will get the points.)

Is is my power adapter or my battery on gateway mx6445 laptop?

The power adapter has been getting really hot lately. Just the other day it was really hot and then the computer just stopped charging. now it doesn’t do anything. Do I need a new adapter or battery or both? Is there a recall? where can I get an adapter for a decent price?
