Why do launches into outer space have to reach such velocity? With oxy supplied why can they not just coast?

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

I have never understood why, if an internal oxygen source were used, an airplane could not escape Earth’s gravity in a slow climb? Why could a pilot not load up a couple of oxygen bottles and gradually climb out in a Piper Cub?

They aren’t on HEAT. So do they just wrestle in dark matches?

how do u find the coefficient of kinetic friction and the velocity or speed?

Friday, October 2nd, 2009

while your driving with a 55 meter radius in a curve. in each pavement weather condition (dry, wet, icy)
force of friction created by your car’s wheels?
determination of the maximum speed to go through the turn without crashing?

How would I solve this short velocity problem?

Monday, September 28th, 2009

You swim at 5 km/hr with your body perpendicular to a stream with a current of 2 km/hr. Your actual velocity is a vector sum of the stream’s velocity and your swimming velocity. Find your actual velocity.

what is the average velocity for this question?

Friday, September 25th, 2009

A bug starts out at rest, 4 m to the right of the origin. It then starts moving on a trip. After 3 s, the bug is seen at 10 m to the right of the origin, travelling at 6 m/s to the right. After 6 s (from the start of the trip), the bug is seen at 2 m to the left of the origin, travelling at 8 m/s to the right.

Q: What is the average velocity of the bug for the entire trip?

HOW THE HELL DO I FIND INSTANTANEOUS VELOCITY IN PHYSICS?

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

I’m getting really really frustrated! I understand how to find average velocity, now I need to learn how to find instantaneous velocity.

Can anybody explain to me how to find this?

And PLEASE dumb it down as much you can. Pretend that I’m the stupidest in the world and that you need to get me to understand somehow.
