I am average in game playing but i am really enjoy to call myself multimedia freak. I am looking for a good sound system in a laptop and fairly nice visual as well.

I have an Alienware Area-51 M9750 with 2.33ghz T7600 and duel SLI GeForce 7950 GTX graphics cards and just recently when ever I play a game and a point in in the game where their is a large battle and a lot is going on my FPS drop dramatically like on BF2142 in an orbital strike the framerate would be at 90 and then drop to about 12-15 FPS and it would stay like that until about 20-30 seconds after the orbital strike. Or on COH in a battle the FPS would be at 55 then drop to 4-6 and stay like than until i go to a spot where their is nothing going on for about 15-30 seconds. I tried using different graphics drivers and different power setting but i cannot fix the problem. would anyone know what is happening? Thanks

Also i have got a 3d mark score of 9506 but now it only gets about 8200.
The thing is, is that this recently started happening and yes the framrate should drop a little bit but not 80% like it is now.

I’m getting an alienware laptop. I cannot decide between the Area 51 m15x and the Area 51 m9750.
The m15x features a 15.4″ screen and plastic case, a Core 2 Extreme Processors and GeForce 8800M GTX vid card, but its final price is just below $4k. The m9750 features a 17″ screen and metal alloy case, a Intel Core 2 Duo T7600 and dual Geforce 8700M GT vid card with a final price about $2.7k. Both systems will use XP Pro, and I intend to game and do school stuff with them. Are the improvements worth the extra $1.3k? Why?

intel genuine cpu t 2400 1.83 ghz
ati radeon mobility x1300
1 gb of ram.
i do not have the game yet.i just wanna make sure it will be handled
by my machine. after that i will get it.

They give you the option of another soundcard, however iam confused. 1st: Is it called external because it is has to be plugged outside the laptop or do the staff fit the soundcard in the laptop’s system. 2nd: Which is better ? i mean the alienware one has surround system ? Adding another $99 is not a problem. I just want to know the main difference. thanks

cuz im thinking of getting the Arura (lowest model/priced one) for $1,429 with shipping and tax included, to me this is a shit load of money becuase im 14 and have never seen this much lol but i am willing to spend all summer with dad to get this if it is really worth it, i am a huge gammer and always wanted and alienware too =P i know you can get almost the same thing cheaper but i want an alienware and was wondering if they really were as reliable as i hear. as i have herd “you can throw any game at them and they still perform amazingly.” thanx for helping =)
