when i turn on my ibm thinkpad a lock alert pops up how do i take it off

I have an older IBM Thinkpad 755ce running Windows 98se. I have two PCMIA cards insttalled for ethernet. When the unit tries to hibernate or I try to make it, I get a message that says something like “Laptop cannot standby because a driver will not allow it.”

I have a ibm thinkpad z60m it is a complete mess that you cant due anything with due to severe viruses.. I just want to format the hard drive and start over with it.. but I dont know how. Can anyone help me out?

I have an (8 year) old IBM Thinkpad T22 running Ubuntu. I have a wireless internet card for it which works most of the time, but when I connect ethernet nothing is detected. I have had an ethernet connection work before, but very rarely. When I look at the connections built-in-ethernet does not show up. Is there something I can do or is my computer just to old and slow?

Can I buy any adapter or it have to be the specific one for this brand. If you can, can you please let me know the brand of the adapter too.

Still wondering…..do I need to have an adapter inorder to set up the wireless internet and able to use it.

I don’t want a password at all on this PC - I want to put a new Hard drive in it
I have already tryed changing in BIOS it asks for a Password before getting into it - You Know the “power on password” ?

my father gave me an ibm thinkpad just two weeks ago.the problem is that i can’t use it anymore because it was being lock.

It will recognize a dvd data disk and a dvd video disk but it will not play any dvd video disks. I can pull stuff off a dvd data disk to my hardrive. It tells me that the dvd region code is wrong. I am running on windows 98 with 256 ram, its a p2 running at 233. I can’t find anything on the computer on changing the dvd region code. There is nothing in my registry about a dvd region code. I have looked in the devise manager and still can’t find anything. Thanks for looking.
This was my grandfathers computer and it did play dvds at one point in the past. I can’t find anything that tells me what region the dvd drive is locked to that is if it’s even locked.
