How many tons of garbage has Microsoft added to landfills by making Vista not backwards compatible?

Think of all those perfectly fine printers, modems, etc. that are rendered useless and dicarded into landfills because, here we are in the 21st century, yet Microsoft doesn’t seem to be able to make a backwards compatible operating system.

I just purchased a new computer and the only way that I can get it to work on my monitor is in safe mode. This?

is not good as I need to have the other programs working for school and work. Can anyone give me a few pointers as to why my monitor just sits there and hums every few seconds that it is started in normal mode. any ideas on a way to get it to run in normal mode. Yes it has vista on it and it is a Lenovo. any useful help would be nice.
the dispaly is set at 800 x 600 and it still wont run in normal mode

How can I get the full download or DVD of Vista - I paid for the license?

My company laptop came form Lenovo with Vista Business Edition Installed. Te license key is on the bottom of the Laptop. The IT dept. has replaced this with a disk image of XP. I am allowed to put on Vista and support myself if I like, but I canot find a way to get the full version short of buying it new.

What is the difference between Microsoft Office 2007 and Microsoft Works 2008?

I need to buy a new laptop and am worried about Vista and getting an updated Word program….I thought there was a Microsoft Office 2008 (w/word) but all I’ve seen is a Microsoft Works Plus 2008.

does any one know of an alternate operating system that will work with the fujitsu SIEMENS Amilo li laptop that will enable the wireless

on windows you have to hit ‘function f1′ to enable wireless but any alternate operating Systems to vista i find don’t recognize this so i can enable wireless or use the internet
